Hello!
I am so excited to be part of the Clark Community with 5th grade this year!
I have recently relocated to Washington from Montana where I taught in a multi-age, place-based independent school.
Prior to living and teaching in Montana, I taught 4th grade in Minneapolis, MN.
I am originally from Duluth, Minnesota and have always had a soft spot for lakes and freshwater!
I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies and Spanish from Montana State University in 2008. After college, I spent time traveling in Argentina and then returned to the states to serve as a member of AmeriCorps for 2 years. Through my experience with youths during this time, I felt my true passion would be teaching and I enrolled in a graduate program to achieve an elementary teaching license from Hamline Univeristy in St. Paul, MN. I finished my Master’s degree in Teaching with an emphasis in English Language Learning in 2014.
My husband, Tony and I met in college and after spending that time in Montana, we knew we couldn’t stay away from the mountains. We are so happy to be in the Pacific Northwest where we have access to both the mountains and freshwater.
I enjoy spending time with my husband and family, running, hiking, painting, skiing, snowboarding, Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, writing, quilting, swimming and kayaking.
